Raising the standards of horse motels.

Four Winds Ranch opened in December of 2003.  Since then I have had many many wonderful people stay here.  It is certainly enjoyable to meet folks from all over the United States from all walks of life.  Many guests are repeat customers that have become good friends.

The horse motel barn was planned and built as a horse motel.  Much consideration was given to what to build and the general layout of the facility.  By consulting with a number of horse people who haul long distance I was able to design a facility that meets the needs of all types of horses and horse owners.

Some things that I feel are important to know about the ranch:

The driveway is set up to handle big rigs.  The driveway is 50' wide at the road, the gate is 19' wide and the driveway is 16' wide all the way to the barn.  Plenty of room to get turned around.

All the electric is underground so no worries about backing into poles.  Speaking of electric...every inch of electric in the barn is in conduit.  The RV hook ups right next to the barn are true 30 amp service.

Many people comment about the barn when they first walk in.  The concrete barn isle has a heavy brushed finish for slip resistance.  The stalls are rubber matted over limestone screenings with ample shavings.  Stall walls are made of poly sheeting called "puckboard" and pipe.  The stalls are full view to help with ventilation and so friends can see each other.  Movable dividers allow me to separate horses from different loads or stallions.  The barn has 2 oversize stalls that are 12' x 14'.  A misting system helps control heat in the summer and a sticky reel fly system keeps flies under control.

Outside pens allow for turnout of stalled horses or use them full-time for horses that prefer the great outdoors.

Arrive at any hour, get help with unloading or in the morning with a problem loader.  Horses are closely monitored and special needs can be easily handled.

 Guests often comment about how quiet and restful the ranch is.  Many enjoy the coyotes singing each night and the pretty night sky.

Owner Michelle Richardson has over 30 years of horse experience.  With experience handling mares, foals, stallions and problem horses you can be assured that your horses will be well cared for here at the ranch.

A well stocked medicine cabinet is on hand to deal with issues that may come up while you are hauling.

On the front of each stall you will find a laminated sheet allowing you to leave specific instructions on the care of your horse.  This same sheet also allows me to keep you informed of your horse's status if you are away from the ranch.   How much water your horse drinks, how well he ate and other observations I feel you need to know about will be noted for you.
